Search Queries
A name or location submitted through a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates it. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be retained so we can respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal duty.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the servers may automatically receive basic technical and usage details:

- Referring website, when one is reported

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Gregg County Criminal History does not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to the Gregg County sheriff and courts, the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Records system, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not compiled into consumer reports or third-party criminal profiles, and the site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information entered there is handled under that provider's privacy policy, including its retention and disclosure rules. We do not direct those practices. Read the provider's policy before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Gregg County offices, Texas agencies, court portals, legal resources, or outside search services. Once you follow an external link, the destination's privacy rules apply. Review them before providing personal details.
Advertising companies may also measure activity across websites to select ads. That processing occurs on their systems.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may still be received by:
- Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
- Search partners processing submitted queries
- Advertising networks serving content on the pages
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security measures are used to protect collected information. No internet system is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If such data comes to our attention, we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Applicable privacy law, including the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act in Texas Business & Commerce Code Chapter 541, may provide rights over covered personal data. Texas public-record access and criminal-history release are separately governed by the Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, and Government Code Chapter 411. - Request deletion of covered information
- Ask to access personal data held about you
- Seek correction of inaccurate information
- Opt out of certain processing when the law provides that choice
